Cue the cutscene.
A little Ruby helper for RPG Maker XP + Pokémon Essentials 21.1. It lets a game event play an OGV movie inside the game through MKXP-Z. A small tinker that makes room for a bigger story beat.

Use it in your game
- Add the script just above Main in RPG Maker XP’s Script Editor, using Pokémon Essentials 21.1.
- Put your OGV video in
Graphics/Movies/. - Add an event Script command with
pbPlayMovie("intro.ogv"), using your movie’s filename.
In-game playback uses MKXP-Z’s native movie player. Other formats, or a failed native playback attempt, fall back to an external Windows media player. The current skip option does not interrupt native playback.
