IERAUI / Download & setup

Forge first.
Then your new UI.

Two downloads, one fresh folder. Keep your existing Forge copy while you try this one.

01

Get the matching Forge release.

Download the official Forge Desktop 2.0.14 archive. Extract the .tar.bz2 completely into a new folder you can write to, such as a folder under Documents.

Look for res beside forge-gui-desktop-2.0.14-jar-with-dependencies.jar. If the archive tool produces a .tar file first, extract that too.

02

Add IERAUI to that folder.

Extract the entire addon ZIP into the same folder, beside Forge’s desktop JAR. Let the included English language file replace the one in this fresh copy.

This ZIP contains the addon, launcher, portable profile, and instructions. Forge, Java, and card artwork come separately.

03

Open Play IERAUI.cmd.

You need Java 17 or later; the release was checked with Java 21. The launcher checks for a bundled runtime, then JAVA_HOME, then Java on your PATH. If you need Java, get it from an official provider such as Eclipse Temurin.

Double-click Play IERAUI.cmd. Look for “Illiterally’s Enhanced Rules Analysis UI” in the window title, then the phase strip and resource bar in a match. Maximize the window for more room.

The launcher checks the exact Forge JAR. A different release won’t work just because its file is renamed.

04

Choose a deck and explore.

Use Forge’s normal deck editor and match setup. Save your deck in the format you plan to use, then select it for the match. The edit/pencil control beside the selected deck helps you reach the correct copy.

Constructed and Commander are separate deck collections. Identical names can hide different card lists. To bring your own .dck files, use data/decks/constructed or data/decks/commander in this new copy.

This portable profile keeps its settings and cache in its own folder. It starts with audio muted; adjust that in Forge’s preferences.

If something gets in the way

A few quick checks.

The launcher says the Forge version is wrong.

Use the official 2.0.14 archive linked above and extract it completely. Both JARs and the addon launcher belong beside res. Do not substitute a newer Forge JAR.

My saved deck didn’t change in the match.

Check the format and the selected deck. Commander and Constructed can contain separate decks with the same name. Edit through the match setup’s pencil control, save, and start a new match with that deck.

I want to go back, update, or keep my settings.

Close this copy and launch your original Forge installation. Before a future update, back up the new copy’s data folder. Keep each supported Forge/addon pair together; this release has no automatic updater.

Something else broke.

Report it to IERAUI with the addon, Forge, and Java versions and the action you tried. The setup guide in the ZIP has more detail. Check logs for private paths before sharing them.

Built on Forge

Thanks to Forge’s creators and contributors for the rules engine, card implementation, AI, and deck tools that make this possible. IERAUI is an independent UI Addon by Illiterally, shared in appreciation of that work.

GPL-3.0-or-later. Source and build instructions are public. OpenAI Codex assisted implementation and checking. This addon is not endorsed by Forge's maintainers or Wizards of the Coast.
